Like many people, we are concerned with the shortages of personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline workers. We asked ourselves what we can do as individuals, as an organization and as a bi-continental team to contribute in this moment of uncertainty. We felt a heightened need for solidarity and action.

Our in-house production team is based in Saigon. Our studio consists of a small, but robust group of highly-skilled individuals and problem-solvers dedicated to their craft who cut, sew and handstitch each and every one of our pieces.

The masks are made the Kaarem way - attention to construction, sustainability (remnant fabric is used) and handcrafted quality.

At the end of March, our first batch of masks arrived in New York from Saigon and were donated to frontline workers, friends and family. After sharing the story of our initial project online, we were flooded by requests from our community to help us in this effort.

We’re continuing to produce masks to donate. If you would like to take part, below are some ways you can help support our effort in providing masks for those in need.

1. Make your own mask - We've made a tutorial for you on how you can make your own mask without a sewing machine, using commonly found fabric in your home.

2. Buy a Mask - Your purchase will help us to continue to run our production studio in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

3. Donate a Bundle of Masks - If you would like to help us donate even more to healthcare workers, you can purchase a bundle of masks by emailing It would directly support our efforts to donate non-medical masks that will be sent to healthcare workers through the Masks for Heroes program or you can specify which essential organization you would like to send the masks to.

All orders are shipped by United State Postal Service (USPS), UPS and DHL on business days, Monday to Friday, excluding holidays.

Once your credit card is authorized and captured, you will receive an order confirmation email from us. In general, orders are processed in 1-4 business days. Once processed, you will receive your order within 3-5 business days for standard shipping or 1-2 days for expedited shipping. For orders shipped to outside of the U.S., orders can take up to 2 weeks for delivery.

To track your order, you will receive a confirmation email with your tracking number upon shipment.

We are unable to ship to PO Box and military addresses.

We are not responsible for unexpected shipping delays caused by circumstances such as severe weather or uncontrollable events.

Similarly, we are not responsible for unexpected shipping delays caused by circumstances related to the courier itself, such as clearance delays for shipments outside of the U.S.

For non-deliverable, refused or unclaimed orders, the customer is responsible for all shipping costs associated with returned packages due to failed delivery.

We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. You can send it back to us in its original condition for an exchange or a refund within 30 days of the original ship date.

The customer must email prior to sending the return to request a return authorization.

At this time, we can only offer returns or exchanges for order shipped within the U.S.

Sale merchandise is Final Sale. Pre-orders and special orders made exclusively for you, are final sale. Masks, Bracelets and Tamarind Coconut Milk Chocolate Bar are final sale. No exchanges or returns will be accepted.

All merchandise returned must be unworn, unwashed, with any original tags intact.

Returns must be returned within 30 days of the original ship date.

The customer is responsible for any return shipping and packaging costs. We recommend you use a shipping courier with delivery and tracking capabilities. We are not responsible for lost or misdirected returns.

Exchanges/Refunds are processed within 7 days after we receive the merchandise. The customer will receive a confirmation by email when the exchange/refund is processed.

We do not refund original or return shipping costs. Shipping costs will only be refunded when the return is a result of our error or damaged merchandise.

We have the right to deny credits if the merchandise returned does not meet our return policy requirements.

At Kaarem, we strive to provide great customer service. We wish we could accept all exchanges and returns without any questions or limitations, but that is just not possible. Thank you for honoring these exchange and return policies, so that we can continue to provide you quality products.

Prices and Tax

Prices are listed in US$ Dollars (USD). All prices are subject to change without notice. We do not have a price-matching policy. Items purchased and shipped to addresses in New York State are subject to applicable sales tax.

For international orders, a customs duty will be incurred (the amount of which is determined by your country of residence). The customer is responsible for all customs duty and taxes in the country of residence. Kaarem is not responsible for the payment of any customs, taxes or tariffs.

Product Availability

Occasionally we may take your order and consequently discover that the item is not available for shipping (i.e. item is backordered, sold out, damaged or defective). In such cases, we will notify you via email of the status and do our utmost to fulfill the order as soon as possible. You’ll also have the option to cancel the order.
