Founded in the summer of 2016 in Downtown Manhattan by Maiko Kyogoku and executive chef Elena Yamamoto, Bessou began as a cozy neighborhood restaurant in Noho, dedicated to offering creative Japanese home cooking. Our vision was to create a place reminiscent of a holiday villa where "everyone knew your name", and we quickly became a local favorite.
