Reporting live from Sài Gòn!
Just a stone’s throw away from our brick-and-mortar Que by Kaarem, is a bustling intersection that we pass by everyday. It’s a converging point of local vendors, avid fitness aunties, regular market goers, passersby and a steady stream of motorbikes, all uniting here in the heart of Bình Thạnh.
In preparation for our favorite time of the year, Tết (Vietnamese Lunar New Year), we ventured out to the local market at Chợ Thị Nghè with German-Vietnamese DJ, Levi Oi—bringing and sharing her good energy!
Filled with punchy reds, yellows and oranges (much luck!), it brought us so much joy spending some time immersed in all the vibrant colors and interacting with the local vendors.
Levi walked away with a bountiful of mandarins, pomelos, chè dessert, and some Tết decor, all while wearing our Song Tu pant in a custom clay swirls silk organza print and our classic Adlay top in a lucky crimson red.
About Levi Oi
Levi Oi moved from Berlin to Saigon at the end of 2018 - to discover her Vietnamese roots and to become a DJ. Her style is characterized by deep infectious melodic tunes, strong baselines paired with a cheeky sprinkle of techno. Within 5 months of her DJ career, she played her first Boiler Room set in Ho Chi Minh City. Next to organizing electronic music events, she was also the tour manager of Red Axes and local guide for their EP “Trips in Vietnam”. Now she is living between Saigon & Berlin.
