Kaarem’s creative director and renaissance human, Chuong Pham, makes bread at Que by Kaarem’s café-bar-kitchen - simply and lovingly coined Que Upstairs. It is a space of experimentation and gathering, which all began with an interest in fermentation and enduring endearment towards the transformation of raw materials into something that can be enjoyed and shared with others.

Bread has many iterations worldwide, but inherently all share the same nurturing and comforting properties. Made with just a few common ingredients and a dedication of time - it is a gratifying process.
At Que, the sourdough bread is created in small batches by hand. This approach is also carried over into the way Kaarem’s new aprons are created—in small batches, by hand, using remnant material from our studio in Saigon. The resulting aprons were created to coexist at Que Upstairs to help protect our garments but also to help set our intentions when making bread.
