For Fall/Winter 2020, we found inspiration from clay indigenous to three distinct provinces in Vietnam, each with its own color.
In Chuong Pham's [Kaarem’s creative director] latest ceramic work for Que by Kaarem, he mixes the distinct clays together. The hands interpret form, function and beauty - yet all is contained within organic properties we cannot control.
This practice of uniting methodology and material to create modern interpretations, while still honoring timeless traditions is the same expression Kaarem's collection encompasses.
Coming full circle, we spent a day with Nguyễn Thùy Dương (TyhD) at Que, photographing the collection in the home which houses Kaarem’s garments and the ceramics that inspired this collection.
This season, we feature an in-house print directly derived from the ceramics, introduced a jacquard print - reminiscent of nostalgic home interiors, and delved into our first foray with denim.
